Our Experience Giving MOXXOR to Our Cats

Our Experience Giving MOXXOR to Our Cats
THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. PLEASE READ MY DISCLOSURE FOR MORE INFO.

If you are here you most likely were recommended by your vet to start giving your cat an Omega-3 supplement. This same thing happened to us a few years back when our cat was diagnosed with Kidney Disease.

We were first told to start with a liquid Omega-3 from Nordic Naturals. However, this was a bit of a hit and miss with or cat. Sometimes he would like it others it made it a bit hard to eat the food. Another downside is forgetting the bottle out on the counter means a bottle wasted as it needs to stay refrigerated once open. Plus once open it is only good for 3 months.

This of course became a problem so I kept my eyes peeled for an alternative. This was when I stumbled across the recommendation of MOXXOR for cats, which not only did I start giving my cat with Kidney Disease I also started to take myself!

Why Give MOXXOR?

You may be saying wait hold up, you want me to give my cat a human supplement? Well first the decision is always yours, but also, this particular supplement has been approved as safe for your furry ones. Straight from MOXXOR here are the key benefits of giving your cat this OMEGA-3 supplement.

Omega-3 fatty acids are regarded as necessary to keep cat coats shiny and to prevent shedding, to protect your cat’s immune system, liver, eyes, brain, joints and to boost heart health.

Most cat foods sold on today’s market contain more omega 6 than omega 3. Since a cat’s digestion derives more moisture from its food than its water drinking, alternating moist food with dry food, and/or adding omega-3 oil supplements are proving to be a good idea to balance out your cats diet. Also degenerative conditions in your cat’s health could well be the result of too much grain and not enough omega-3 oil.

Research is showing that omega-3 fatty acids, especially EPA, may be helpful in reducing the inflammation associated with arthritis. Allergies and autoimmune conditions occur because the immune system over-reacts, and omega-3 fatty acids can lessen the harmful effects these diseases have on the body as well as other diseases which are accompanied by inflammation such as ulcerative colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and rheumatoid arthritis.

It is thought that omega-3 fatty acids may play a beneficial role in the treatment of yeast infection on the skin and ears in cats. Skin conditions in cats such as miliary dermatitis and eosinophilic granulomas have been shown to respond well to omega-3 fatty acid supplementation. Also haircoats which are dull, brittle, and dry often respond well to supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids. In addition to their effects on the developing immune system, omega-3 fatty acids are also essential for the proper development of the retina and visual cortex.

Omega-3 fatty acids have proven to be beneficial in chronic renal failure in cats. Omega-3 supplements work as detoxifiers and are easily put into kitty’s food with typical methods of crushing pills and sprinkling them onto the meal. Omega-3 fatty acids have also been shown to slow the development and metastasis of certain cancers. Omega-6 fatty acids, on the other hand, have been shown to stimulate tumor development.

Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to be extremely important in the health of skin, coat, joints, dry skin for cats.

How to Give your Cat MOXXOR

Good news is the MOXXOR pills are tiny all-natural soft gel capsules. This means it can be eaten whole with food or cut open and poured over food.

Personally we take a pill masker or Pill Pocket and use that to cover the pill. Our cats have had no issue taking it this way as it’s rather small. If you have a hard time giving medication to your cat be sure to read our tips on sneaky ways to pill your cat!
